Pumpkin Crumb Muffins-SKORDO

Pumpkin Crumb Muffins

To ensure that the crumble sets properly and doesn’t sink into the muffin itself its important to start the baking process at high temperature and quickly lowering it in the first few minutes. Inspired by Sally's Baking Addiction, I kept the technique the same but subbed in some bonus SKORDO spices to really elevate the flavor.

Bat Forest Cake-SKORDO

Bat Forest Cake

If I'm going to have a chocolate cake, I'm going to make sure there's Amarena Cherries nearby. A decadent cake, sweet soaked cherries, and light whipped cream is all you need for a classic Black Forest Cake. In this rendition, I took the theme a bit further by using SKORDO Black Cocoa Powder to really deepen the color as well as flavor. And since we are heading towards Halloween, I added some paper bats to the top and dramatically drizzled extra cherry syrup around the cake, declaring it a Bat Forest Cake.

Advieh Spiced Chocolate Sauce

Advieh Spiced Chocolate Sauce

Healthy sweets sound like a trick, but this recipe from the team at S+P Plant Based Foods is our kind of bamboozle. This decadent chocolate sauce is the pantry staple we all deserve!

Poached Pear Galette with Posy Salted Crust

Poached Pear Galette with Posy Salted Crust

Posy salt, we’ve been waiting for you! My initial thoughts for this blend were all cocktails and grilled savory snacks; but I wanted to explore the sweet possibilities to show how versatile this can be! Chocolate seemed like the simple route and with Sister Pie as our Cookbook of the Month-- a galette seemed like the right choice! This recipe has more steps than the ones I usually share but please trust the process as it all flows nicely.

French Toast with Posy Sugar

French Toast with Posy Sugar

I’ve never been a fan of flowers, gifting or receiving, but floral sugar is certainly something I can get behind. All the smells, all the beautiful colors, no watering or responsibilities. This blend of hibiscus, rose, and lavender is so stunning- I just want to sprinkle it on everything. To start your morning on the right foot, I suggest a shimmer of Posy in your latte as you prepare this French Toast recipe. Simple, with a subtle touch of something special!

Cardamom + Pink Pepper Brownies

Cardamom + Pink Pepper Brownies

Full disclosure: I've never made brownies from scratch before. So, when these turned out to be reminiscent of the delicious professionally or box mix brownies I'm familiar with, it was already a win! Great recipe from Mastering Spice (not surprising - we've loved all the recipes we've made from this book). At first you taste the pink peppercorns then you get the green cardamom pods and a bit of the Urfa chile flakes. Delicious.

Granola Bark

Granola Bark

This recipe comes from the renowned bakery in San Francisco, Tartine. I normally make granola each week as a tasty breakfast or easy snack and wanted to give this recipe a try! It was very well received though next time I think I would add walnuts and maybe a dried fruit for some additional textures. I love that this granola breaks into large pieces, easy to pack for a lunchtime snack!

Masala Chai and Whiskey Tea Cake

Masala Chai and Whiskey Tea Cake

I'm a big fan of tea cakes. They're quick to make, great to snack on and handy to have when friends pop over for a visit. Plus, they're an excuse for a quick mid-week bake! This one is fall inspired and pairs perfectly with Builder's Tea. In a pinch coffee will do, but there's nothing better than strong black tea (we recommend PG tips) and a slice of this spicy, sweet treat.

Masala Chai Dalgona Whipped Coffee

Masala Chai Dalgona Whipped Coffee

This is one of our favorite ways to use SKORDO Masala Chai Spice Blend. The cardamom, clove and pepper really shine through in contract with the instant coffee. Dalgona coffee was a summer star we’re planning on enjoying well into fall!

Apple Coffee Cake

Apple Coffee Cake

This apple cake recipe is actually a blueberry cake recipe that’s been reworked. It’s a family favorite and nobody knows the exact origins, but there’s rumor of a very stained/browned newspaper clipping tucked into a homemade recipe book in my grandmother’s kitchen.

Berry Shortcake

Berry Shortcake

Is there anything better than fresh berry shortcake? It is strawberry season in Maine and we've indulged in this recipe a few times over the last few weeks. The biscuit recipe is from an old New England cookbook we've had kicking around the house for years and somehow the book always manages to open to this page. We've updated it a bit to feature SKORDO ingredients and have to say, the additions are pretty delicious!

Dutch Baby Pancake

Dutch Baby Pancake

When I was growing up, these pancakes were always a special treat. I used to eagerly watch them inflate and bubble in the oven. Filling with air, splitting on top and then slowly dropping as they were removed from the oven to cool - so much drama in a pan! Now, they're a regular Sunday morning meal. One joy of growing up is you realize how easy these magical meals are to make and share with the people you love.
